Printmakers Inc. was formed in 2010 by a core group of printmakers starting a pop-up shop in Camden. Based primarily in North London the current group is: Barbara Jackson, Aimée Birnbaum, Angela Brookes, and Theresa Pateman. Connected by a network of artist-run printmaking galleries in South London (Southbank and Greenwich Printmakers), they gather together other individual printmakers to create exciting exhibitions.

The group have shown at Affordable Art Fair Hampstead, Highgate Literary & Scientific Institution, and The Late November Gallery in Pembrokeshire. Future shows are in the planning.

About Printmaking

Printmaking involves many differing techniques to create an image which can then be reproduced. Basically, the artist works with a matrix be it metal, wood, card or plastic, textures are laid onto this surface and ink applied, from this an Original print is created.

This method of working is very addictive, we chose to wrestle with whatever our preferred medium is, sometimes adding watercolour, or using ink like paint creating mixed media prints that will be different every time.

In this sense we are always chasing a vision of something within ourselves – our “inner eye”.
