Science and society; an afternoon of stories from some of people who are changing the world by combining the two.

The event is curated by Dr Jess Wade, a physicist at Imperial College London and prolific editor of Wikipedia. You'll hear from:

Sophie Deen, the founder and CEO of kids’ media company, Bright Little Labs. She believes in the power of storytelling to promote critical thinking, computer science and equality for ALL kids.

Alice White, Wikimedian in Residence at the Wellcome Library. White has a background in the history of science and was awarded the WES

Dr Ying Lia Li is an entrepreneur, scientist, and physicist. Her specialty is in laser science, particularly in cooling down lasers until they show quantum properties.

Dr Faith Uwadiae is an immunologist at the Francis Crick Institute. She rose to fame after a viral Twitter thread that highlighted success stories of Black scientists throughout Black History Month
