Sir Chris Bonington is Britain’s best-known mountaineer, as well as an author, photographer, television presenter and lecturer. He was born in Hampstead and educated at University College School. His name is synonymous with legendary climbing achievements, such as the first British ascent of the North Wall of the Eiger and expeditions to numerous Himalayan peaks including Everest. He has written 17 books, the most recent of which is Ascent (Simon & Schuster). He will be in conversation with acclaimed journalist and presenter Rosie Goldsmith.
