Elif Shafak is the award-winning author of 15 books, 10 of which are novels (e.g. The Bastard of Istanbul, The Forty Rules of Love, Three Daughters of Eve). She is Turkey’s most read female writer, as well as a women's rights activist, an engaged intellectual and speaker. She writes in Turkish and English and her books have been translated into 48 languages.
